Get answers to common questions about Underarms.
Most underarm waxes take about 10–20 minutes, including a quick consultation and prep. Timing varies with hair length, sensitivity, and any combined services. Allow extra time for your first appointment.
Mild to moderate discomfort is common, but professionals use soothing wax and techniques to reduce pain. We recommend exfoliation days before, avoid caffeine, and apply numbing cream if needed. Communicate with your esthetician for adjustments.
Hair should be approximately 1/4 inch (about the length of a grain of rice) to allow the wax to grip. If hair is too short, the wax won’t pull properly; if too long, we may trim before waxing.
Avoid hot showers, saunas, heavy sweating, and deodorant for 24 hours. Use gentle cleansing and a fragrance-free moisturizer. Exfoliate lightly after 48 to 72 hours to prevent ingrown hairs, and wear loose clothing for the first day.
Wait at least 24 hours before applying antiperspirant or deodorant to reduce irritation or clogged pores. If you must, choose a gentle, aluminum-free product and do a patch test. Avoid strong fragrances for the first day.
Most clients return every three to six weeks depending on personal hair growth and preferences. Regular waxing can reduce regrowth and may extend intervals over time. Your esthetician will recommend a personalized schedule based on your hair cycle and desired smoothness.
