Get answers to common questions about Jaw.
No — waxing does not change hair thickness or color. It removes hairs from the root, so regrowth often appears softer and finer. Repeated waxing can reduce visible density for some clients, though hormones and genetics primarily determine hair growth patterns.
Most clients schedule jaw waxing every four to six weeks, depending on individual hair growth cycles. We'll assess regrowth at appointments and recommend timing. Regular waxing can lengthen intervals and improve results; adjust frequency if you use topical treatments.
Discomfort is typically brief and manageable. Our estheticians use warmed premium wax and quick removal techniques to minimize pain. Topical numbing creams can be applied on request and proper pre- and post-care helps reduce irritation and sensitivity.
If you have sensitive skin or acne-prone areas, we’ll do a consultation and patch test first. Waxing is not recommended over open sores or active cystic acne. We can modify technique, suggest alternatives, or provide soothing aftercare to protect skin.
Allow hair to grow about one-quarter inch so the wax can grip effectively. Avoid exfoliating the day of your appointment, skip topical retinoids for 48–72 hours, and arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Inform your esthetician about any medications.
Results typically last three to six weeks for most clients, depending on individual hair growth cycles, hormones, and care routines. Regular waxing can extend smooth intervals and reduce regrowth visibility; follow recommended exfoliation and moisturizing for best outcomes.
