Get answers to common questions about Neck Strip.
A Neck Strip appointment usually lasts 10–20 minutes, including consultation and prep. The sugaring application itself is quick—typically five to ten minutes—varying with hair density and individual needs. We prioritize comfort and precision for tidy, efficient results.
Mild redness or tenderness is normal for a few hours, especially on sensitive skin. Because sugaring adheres to hair and dead skin, post-treatment inflammation is typically minimal. Apply a cool compress and follow aftercare; prolonged irritation is uncommon.
For best results, hair should be at least 1/8 to 1/4 inch (about 3–6 mm) so the sugar paste can grip effectively. If hair is shorter, we may suggest waiting for regrowth before treatment for optimal lift.
Do not shave directly before sugaring; the paste needs hair to be present. Light trimming to even excessive length is acceptable, but ideally arrive with the recommended regrowth for comfortable, effective removal and precision shaping.
Sugaring is generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding since it is topical and uses natural ingredients. Hormone changes may increase sensitivity, so inform your technician and consult your healthcare provider if you have concerns.
Avoid heavy sweating, sun exposure, hot showers, and fragranced products for 24–48 hours. Use a gentle cleanser, skip exfoliation for 48 hours, and apply a soothing, fragrance-free moisturizer to reduce irritation and prevent ingrown hairs.
