Get answers to common questions about Nape.
Most nape sugaring sessions take about 10–20 minutes depending on hair amount and desired shaping. We include a brief consultation, cleansing, sugaring, and soothing aftercare. Appointment time varies slightly, making it a quick, efficient addition to your spa visit.
Sugaring is gentler than waxing; the paste adheres to hair, not skin, reducing discomfort. Clients may feel brief tugging, but irritation is minimal and short-lived. We use soothing aftercare and offer advice to minimize sensitivity between appointments.
Ensure hair is about 1/4 inch long so the sugar can grip effectively. Avoid heavy exfoliation 48 hours prior and skip topical retinoids or harsh chemicals. Arrive clean and dry; we’ll perform a quick consult and cleanse before sugaring.
Most clients enjoy smoothness for three to six weeks, depending on hair growth cycles and individual genetics. With regular sugaring, regrowth often becomes finer and sparser, extending the time between appointments and improving overall texture.
Yes—sugaring is well-suited for sensitive skin because the paste is natural and water-soluble. We perform a skin check and patch test when needed, adjust technique, and use calming products to reduce redness and irritation.
Avoid heavy sweating, hot showers, swimming, and sun exposure for 24–48 hours. Gently exfoliate after 72 hours to prevent ingrown hairs and apply a soothing, alcohol-free moisturizer. If irritation persists, contact us for guidance.
