Get answers to common questions about Chin.
Ideally hair should be about 1/4 inch (5–7 mm) long so the sugar paste can grip and remove it effectively. If hair is too short, wait a few days; if too long, our estheticians can trim before treatment.
Most clients experience minimal discomfort because sugar paste adheres to hair rather than skin, and technicians use gentle strokes. Redness is brief. For very sensitive skin we recommend a pre-treatment consultation and soothing aftercare to maximize comfort.
Most clients enjoy smooth chin skin for three to six weeks depending on individual hair growth cycles. With regular sugaring, regrowth often becomes finer and slower, allowing longer intervals between maintenance sessions.
Sugaring generally reduces ingrown hairs because paste removes hair in the natural growth direction. Mild, temporary redness can occur. Proper exfoliation and hydration after treatment help prevent ingrown hairs; follow your esthetician's aftercare recommendations.
Cleanse the area and avoid heavy exfoliation or retinoids for 48–72 hours prior. Let hair reach the recommended length and avoid lotions or oils on the day of your visit. Arrive makeup-free if possible for best results.
Sugaring is generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding since it's topical and natural. However, hormonal changes may increase sensitivity and discomfort. Discuss any concerns with your esthetician and your healthcare provider before treatment.
