Sugaring uses a water-soluble sugar paste applied at skin temperature and removed against hair growth, reducing breakage and irritation. Unlike strip waxing, sugaring adheres to hair not skin, often resulting in less pain, fewer ingrown hairs, and a cleaner finish for sensitive areas.
Wear loose clothing, avoid heavy creams or oils, and ensure hair is about 1/4 inch long (roughly two weeks after shaving). Arrive with clean, dry skin; if you're on retinol or certain medications, inform us to reduce irritation risk.
Sugaring is effective on shorter hair than many waxing methods and excels with fine hair when performed by experienced technicians. We can often remove hairs as short as one-quarter inch, but multiple sessions may be needed for very fine or sparse regrowth.
Sugaring is generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding because it uses natural ingredients and gentle technique. However, hormonal changes can increase sensitivity; inform your technician and we'll adjust pressure and timing to prioritize comfort and safety.
Most clients enjoy smooth results for three to six weeks, depending on hair growth cycles and individual hormones. With regular sugaring appointments, hair often grows back finer and sparser, extending intervals between treatments over time.
Avoid hot baths, saunas, strenuous exercise, and sun exposure for 24–48 hours. Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer and exfoliate lightly after 48 hours to prevent ingrown hairs. Contact us if irritation or prolonged redness occurs.
