Get answers to common questions about Chin.
No — waxing does not make hair grow back thicker or darker. It removes hair at the root; regrowth may feel blunt but is not altered. Regular waxing can actually soften growth and sometimes reduce overall hair density over time.
Aim for about 1/4 inch (6mm) of hair so the wax can grip effectively. If hair is shorter, you may need to wait a bit; if it's too long, we can trim slightly before the service for comfort.
Most clients experience a brief stinging or tugging sensation. Skilled estheticians use fast technique, quality wax, and soothing products to minimize discomfort, making the treatment quick and tolerable for most men.
Wait at least 24 to 48 hours before shaving or trimming to allow pores to settle. Shaving too soon can irritate freshly waxed skin and increase the risk of ingrown hairs or redness.
Avoid waxing with open wounds, active acne flare-ups, sunburn, recent chemical peels, or while using retinoids without provider approval. Always disclose medications and skin concerns during booking to ensure safety.
Keep the area clean and avoid hot showers, saunas, heavy sweating, and direct sun for 24–48 hours. Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer or soothing gel and exfoliate lightly after 48 hours to prevent ingrown hairs.
