Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Photofractional Face or Chest.

Photofractional combines IPL with ResurFx fractional laser to treat both pigment and texture. IPL targets brown spots and vascular concerns while ResurFx stimulates collagen and fractional resurfacing, improving fine lines and pore size over a series of treatments.

Most clients benefit from 3–5 sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Your provider will customize the plan based on skin concerns, severity, and response; some see improvement after one session, with optimal results after the full series.

You may feel mild stinging, heat, or a snapping sensation during treatment. We offer cooling and topical numbing if needed; discomfort is generally well tolerated and short-lived, with most clients reporting minimal pain.

Downtime is minimal: expect redness and mild swelling for 24–72 hours and light flaking for several days. Most people resume normal activities immediately; avoid sun exposure and use SPF and gentle skincare during healing.

Ideal candidates have sun damage, uneven pigmentation, fine lines or texture concerns and realistic expectations. Not suitable for active tanning, certain skin conditions, pregnancy, or recent isotretinoin use; a consultation determines personalized suitability.

Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for two weeks. Discontinue retinoids and harsh exfoliants as advised, arrive with clean skin, and disclose medications or recent procedures during your pre-treatment consultation.
