Get answers to common questions about Photofacial (IPL) Half Face (Cheeks).
Most Photofacial half-face cheek treatments take about 20–30 minutes including consultation and prep. The actual light application lasts only a few minutes per cheek, followed by brief cooling and post-care instructions.
Comfort varies by person but most clients describe mild snapping sensations. We use cooling and optional topical anesthetic for sensitivity. Discomfort is brief and manageable, with immediate aftercare to soothe the skin.
Typically clients see best results after 3–6 sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. The exact number depends on pigmentation severity, redness, and individual skin response discussed during your personalized consultation.
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, chemical peels, and strong retinoids for two weeks before and after treatment. Post-care includes gentle cleansing, sunscreen, and avoiding hot baths, exfoliation, or aggressive skincare for several days.
Not ideal for those with recent sunburn, active tan, certain medications causing photosensitivity, pregnancy, or uncontrolled skin infections. People with darker Fitzpatrick skin tones may need alternative approaches—consultation determines suitability.
Initial improvement in redness and pigment can appear within one to three weeks as spots fade or flake. Collagen remodeling and textural benefits develop over months; full results are usually visible after the recommended treatment series.
